Rollins

Has anyone caught The Henry Rollins Show on IFC? I watch about one hour of TV per week (read: The Sopranos), but Kelsey had Hank TiVoed and I stumbled upon it.

Gotta say, these days on the music tip I find Rollins a bit, well... bad... but his spoken word and writing are still quite good in my view. He talks a big game in terms of his world view but like so many of the 1st-gen DC punks, he backs it up.

I watched two episodes last night: Oliver Stone and Sleater-Kinney, and Ozzy and Ben Folds. Only complaints: maybe a teensy bit too much wanky monologue/filler stuff, though I guess that's par for the course on opinionated talk shows (see: Maher, Dennis Miller). I'm disappointed that they went with Shepard Fairey for the show's art direction, too. I guess I'm just ready to see some art from someone else for a change.

Hey, but get a load of that website. You can tell that the project management on that thing was ACE!

Hope all's well in Bobville.

Hmm, I sense that your opinion is not entirely objective on this one.

How about those ringtones, huh? Rollins as self-parody.

You can almost hear the pain in his voice. Can you image some marketing guy pitching this and then Rollins in the vocal booth? Is this even the same person who once sang 'Rise Above'?

I'll sleep soundly knowing that Ian won't be providing ringtones...ever.
