Arnold goes from hedonistic idiot to puppet Governor, and Stan "Tookie" Williams goes from Crip-founding death-row murderer to Nobel Peace Prize-nominated anti-gang crusader. Now Arnold actually has the decision on his hands whether Williams lives or dies. Funny how things work.

Raphy:

That a man who is a central figure in the genocide of young African-American males could later go on to be nominated for a Nobel Prize is a mystery to me. But then, anyone can nominate anyone for a Nobel, and thus the reason why the list of nominees is never officially released.

The last California governor to grant clemency to a death row inmate was Ronald Reagan - a cold-hearted Republican and former actor.

Maybe Tookie has a chance.

BK:

I don't claim to know anything about gangs, Tookie Williams, or his crimes. Never even heard of him until last week, to be honest. But there's just something interesting in the moral parallel here. That's all I'm trying to say.
