Here's a list of all the things I've considered posting about in the last 11 days, but just couldn't quite muster the time to do:
1. Intel CPUs in Apple computers: I don't care what chip is inside this thing. Just make it go fast. Hopefully video games will perform better. PC-to-Mac game porting companies like Aspyr could likely be doomed, which wouldn't really bother me, since typically their ports blow.
2. Michael Jackson: Really don't care.
3. Pit Bulls: There's quite the controversy going on in SF right now over pit bulls, with the recent mauling/killing of a 12-year old boy by his family's pits. People are calling for regulations on the breed, while other pit bull defenders shift the blame. I say this: pit bulls are great, great dogs. More friends of mine have pits than any other breed. They're also potentially dangerous and do require serious training; whether or not a propensity toward violence is bred into their genes, the ability to exert 1200lbs of force is. It's a harsh comparison but I view pits in sort of the same way that I view guns. You're allowed to own a gun, but you're supposed to have to jump through hoops to get one. Guns in the wrong hands are potentially very bad. Pit bulls in the wrongs hands are potentially very bad. Now, one major difference is that guns don't hump each other and make more guns that you can pass out to your friends without any official agency knowing about it, but I think my point is in there somewhere. Also, I don't much like guns, but I love the doggies.

Nice Pit Bull analysis.
I also tossed the Pit/Gun analogy around in my head when this news came out. One other important difference - guns require a pull of the trigger (by a human presumably), while dogs can act autonomously.
I hope a sensible resolution can be achieved.

It would be way intense, however, if guns *could* hump each other.

If you've ever been attacked by a pit bull (I have), you might see them a little differently. The biggest issues, is that when pits attack, they tend to finish the job. I was extremely lucky that the owner was able to call the dog off before he/she did more than tear out one chunk of flesh. The dog had me on the ground and was about to go for my face. Too many owners of pits think it's ok that their dog is a bit "nippy" and it's only "playing". Neuter/spaying the animal is very crucial in keeping them more docile.
