Grupo and an RIP to Ms. Lopes

Grupo went off swimmingly. Saw lots of good, good people, and good, good art. Makes me happy. I took a few photos: [1] [2] [3]

Bummer about Lisa Lopes . I've never been ashamed to admit my love of TLC.

sonny rollins was rulin' the troy music hall last night. he's 70.

Katherine and I got in the car the other day, and "Waterfalls" was on, and I remembered that you and I once discussed our mutual admiration society for that tune. It's one of those songs that only works, however, in R&B form, or maybe reggae. Can you imagine a bluegrass, speed metal or indie rock version? The sincerity would die.

Haha ... Now you have me humming a dub version in my head. But yeah. That's one ballad that just wouldn't make the genre transition. But, hey.

Left Eye did have that clown paint on her face, tho.

Many people out there thought that the members of TLC were simply professional clowns, trying to cut it in the music industry. We know that is not true.
